Safety update: Hwy 22 crosswalk closure starts April 14

Starting Monday, April 14, pedestrians on the north side of Glenbow Drive and Quigley Drive will be detoured to the south side.

The Town of Cochrane announced that starting Monday, April 14, pedestrians on the north side of Glenbow Drive and Quigley Drive will be detoured to the south side to prioritize safety when crossing Highway 22.

Signal changes at the intersection include:

  • Early walk signal: Pedestrians at the south crosswalk will receive an advanced walk signal.
  • Adjusted signal timing: Lights at the intersection will be recalibrated, allowing drivers more time to reach the green light before it turns yellow. Drivers are reminded to slow down and observe all new signage and signals.

The pedestrian detour and adjusted signals will remain in effect until the interchange project is completed in fall 2025.
