The annual street sweeping in Cochrane is set to start on April 28.

The Town of Cochrane will begin its annual residential street sweeping program on Monday, April 28, and is urging residents to prepare ahead of time to ensure a smooth and efficient cleanup.

In preparation for the annual sweep, residents are asked to:

  • Check the schedule for their designated street
  • Watch for signage posted at neighbourhood entrances 48 hours before sweeping
  • Remove vehicles and other street obstructions by 8 a.m. on their scheduled sweep day
  • Be prepared for minor dust from street sweeping operations

“Our Roads team has begun pre-sweeping in priority areas, and now we need residents’ help to keep streets clear on their scheduled day,” said Shane Hubl, Director of Operations for the Town of Cochrane. “Moving vehicles and removing items from the road allows us to sweep efficiently and ensure our streets are clean and safe for everyone.”

Each neighbourhood is scheduled for sweeping on a weekday that does not coincide with waste and recycling collection. Residents must move vehicles off the street before 8 a.m. on their scheduled day. Vehicles left on the street may be ticketed or towed.

Residents are encouraged to use driveways, back alleys, or alternative parking options.

Street sweeping is a key maintenance initiative that removes sand and debris left over from winter, helping prevent vehicle damage, improving safety for pedestrians and cyclists, and keeping storm drains clear.

Residents can view the street sweeping schedule at cochrane.ca/sweep or download the Town of Cochrane app to receive notifications when sweeping begins in their area.

Daily schedule updates will be confirmed by 8 a.m. and posted to cochrane.ca and the @TownofCochrane social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and X.
