Two families lose their homes in early morning blaze in Irricana

According to the Airdrie RCMP, the fire impacting multiple residences was at the corner of McCulloch Crescent and Madison Drive in Irricana.

Two families have lost their homes in an early morning residential fire in Irricana.

According to the Airdrie RCMP, they received word of a fire impacting multiple residences at the corner of McCulloch Crescent and Madison Drive in Irricana.on Jan. 25 at 4:50 a.m.

The Airdrie RCMP along with EMS and fire services from Irricana, Rocky View County, Crossfield and Airdrie responded to assist in extinguishing the blaze. Many emergency service vehicles and personnel remain on scene.  No serious injuries are reported at this time. The fire has now been extinguished.

"We have two families in need of everything from clothing to necessities of all kinds any and all donations will be gladly excepted," wrote MacCharles. "There was a house fire at one home but it quickly engulfed the neighbours home as well, both families are well and with neighbours at this time but both places are gone completely.

"I'm raising $50,000 to be split between both families, to help cover the loss of household goods, provide a temporary place to live, replace essential work equipment, and ensure the kids have what they need."
