Gas prices have risen significantly in the Cochrane area over the last week.
According to the latest prices being reported at local stations, the average gas price across all stations in Cochrane is now 148.9 per litre, a sharp rise from 139.9 per litre at the beginning of the month.
Cochrane's average gas price is higher than other local jurisdictions on average. In Calgary the cheapest gas prices range between 143.9 per litre and 148.8 per litre.

As high as prices are now, they are expected to rise even more when the federal carbon tax increases on April 1 from 14.3 cents per litre to 17.6 cents.
