The Calgary Police Service has charged a Calgary doctor with sexually assaulting four of his patients since 2016.

According to police, in 2023, four victims independently reported to police that they were sexually assaulted by their family physician, who was working at a medical clinic in northwest Calgary at the time of the incidents.

Police believe all four victims attended the Brentwood Medical Clinic, located at 810 3630 Brentwood Rd. N.W., between 2016 and 2020, when the doctor was employed as a general practitioner at the clinic. Each victim reported they were sexually assaulted in an examination room when the doctor performed non-consensual sexual acts during their medical examinations.

"Following a lengthy investigation by the Calgary Police Service Sexual Assault Investigative Unit, we have now charged 46-year-old Phu Truong VU with four counts of sexual assault," the CPS said in a statement released on Tuesday.

Vu will next appear in court on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024.
