PAMENTER, Charles Beverley
March 5, 1929 - January 7, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Charles Beverley “Bev” Pamenter, at the age of 95, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in Calgary, AB.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stewart and Constantine Pamenter. Bev is lovingly remembered by his children: Heather (Peter), Doug (Cathy), and Jill (Peter). He was a cherished brother to Marg (late Colin) and Isabelle (Fred). Bev was a proud grandfather to Kendra (Lasse), Jordan, Aaron, Matthew, and Luke. His nieces and nephews include Bruce (Jana), Glenn (Sandra), Lynn (John), Rob (Barb) Russel, Wendy (Jason), Lisa (late Bill), Michael, Sharyn (Nathaniel), Sheila (Peter), Suzanne (Rob), and Sarah.
After graduating from McMaster University with a Master’s in Geology, Bev married his beloved Diane in 1958 and moved out west to begin their life together.
Bev was employed by Shell Canada, which led them to Calgary, AB.
His field work involved hiking in the many areas including Canmore and Jasper. This work also extended as far as Northern Territories and Alaska. Over the years, Bev held a variety of roles, including a post-retirement job as a school bus driver.
Bev loved to joke and was a gifted storyteller, drawing on his many adventures to captivate his audience. His love of music and dancing also brought joy to his life and to those around him. Bev was devoted to God, his family, and his community, generously giving his time to others.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, (10 River Heights Dr, Cochrane AB). Following the Mass, everyone is invited to join us for a reception and light lunch in the gathering space at the church
The interment will be a private affair the following day.
