Great West Media is projecting the Conservative incumbent will be re-elected in Airdrie-Cochrane.
Blake Richards, who has served as a Member of Parliament (MP) since 2008, has secured re-election in Airdrie-Cochrane on April 28, re-affirming his strong support base in the community.
Richards is leading by 72.3 per cent with 17,869 votes, just edging out Liberal candidate, Sean Secord who polled 22.4 per cent with 5,530 votes, as of press time on Monday night.
He has also served as the Conservative Shadow Minister for Veterans' Affairs, who is committed to honouring and supporting Canada's veterans, and is a well-known presence at local veteran and remembrance events.
His victory further reinforces his stellar track record in serving his constituency, having previously been recognized as Canada's Best Constituency MP and the Hardest Working MP.
This time around, he told Great West Media earlier in the campaign, his focus lies strongly on the needs of his constituents, particularly by advocating for tax reductions, including a proposal to eliminate GST on home construction as a form of tax relief.
Additionally, Richards has vowed to promote economic growth, and further ensures that local concerns continue to be heard in Ottawa.
