Cochrane man charged with trafficking $150,000 in fentanyl

Police say they have arrested a Cochrane-based drug trafficker with $150,000 worth of fentanyl.

According to the Calgary police service, in January 2025, the CPS District 4 General Investigations Unit began investigating after receiving information from the York Regional Police Service about a Calgary-based drug trafficker. Over the following three months, officers were able to identify the suspect and observe activity consistent with drug trafficking.

A search of an apartment located in the 100 block of Second Avenue S.W., Calgary, Alta., resulted in the seizure of a taser.

·       1.5 kilograms of fentanyl

·       11 grams of unknown pills

·       161 grams of an unknown white powder

·       A loaded handgun, with a 3D-printed receiver and a Glock slide, which had been reported as lost in Ontario

·       A T81SA 7.62mm semi-automatic rifle

·       A brown SKS rifle

·       A black SKS rifle

·       A black Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun

·       Approximately 1,170 rounds of ammunition

·       As well as two prohibited firearm magazines
