More candidates are in the process of being acclaimed in the Airdrie-Cochrane Riding for the 2025 Federal Election.

The deadline to apply for candidacy is Monday, April 7, with the election being held on April 28.

Deraek Menard has been confirmed as the Green Party's Airdrie-Cochrane candidate.

Tanner Staniewski is now listed as the People's Party of Canada (PPC) candidate after Paul Blaha announced he was no longer running.

Little information is available about these candidates as profiles, contacts, and campaigns are still being set up in the midst of a snap election.

Blake Richards is the Conservative incumbent, vying for another term as Member of Parliament. Richards won his seat in 2008, representing the Wild Rose riding, which was abolished in 2013. Richards represented Banff-Airdrie in the next three elections until 2025, as that riding will be abolished to become Airdrie-Cochrane.

Sean Secord will be the riding's Liberal candidate, as will second-time NDP candidate Sarah Zagoda. Libertarian David Sabine also launched his campaign last month.

In the 2021 election, the Conservatives earned 33,821 votes while the second-place NDP had 8,427.
