What are your priorities for improving social or community services?

My priority is to reduce spending while improving services. If we continue to overspend on roads, buildings, and other projects, we erode our ability to continually improve or even support our social and community services. Projects need to be delivered on time and in budget so that we have the services our community needs.

The recent “Regional Well-Being Review” had two key items identified as priorities: public transit and 24-hour urgent care. By making these a priority over the next four years, we will improve public safety, reduce congestion and give citizens access to the social and community services they need.

By making public transit a priority, we provide independence to our young and freedom to our elderly. They will have equal opportunity to take advantage of all our town has to offer, improving everyone’s access to our social and community services.

Prioritizing 24-hour urgent care means families don’t have to choose between getting care and driving to Calgary. We can’t plan when care will be needed, so it needs to be available 24/7. Increasing access to medical care is essential to improving lives.
