Dear Editor,
I wish to join with the many other supporters of advanced requests for MAID for mental reasons. It is no secret that all of humanity's mental capacity decreases with advancing age and eventually, if one lives long enough, grades into mental incompetence. At this point the aging individual cannot make an informed application for MAID, and so is condemned to live their last period of life in misery.
Personally, at the age of 87, I see this future in front of me and regard it as totally unacceptable to rational adults in a democratic society.
Treat MAID for age related mental reasons in the same manner as it is treated for all other physical conditions and diseases.
