The talented players behind Cochrane Vision Theatre are busy putting the finishing touches on this year’s Christmas pantomime production: the classic tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

“We’ve been pulling some late nights and weekends,” said Lucy Mills, director of the production. “This is going to be a great performance. And we have some wonderful talent on display in the younger stars.”

The production will run from Nov. 28 to Dec. 1 at the Cochrane RancheHouse theatre. Both evening and matinee showings will be offered.

Mills said the pantomime performance will closely follow the storyline of the traditional Snow White fairytale — with a few unique notes added in. The crowd will be privy to a show full of local talent, singing, dancing and comedy.

“And it all ends up happily ever after, of course,” she remarked.

“The crowd can expect to not sit back and watch,” added Mills, who will be directing the pantomime for the fourth time. “They’ll be asked to participate and interact with the performance as much as they want.”

She said that a few lucky performance goers will be invited onstage to show off their dance moves.

As always, Mills said she is grateful to all those who helped to make this production a success. And, with a troupe of about 40 people working to make Snow White work, it was no small feat.

“There have been so many special people who have supported this group so well — I can’t name names,” said Mills with a laugh. “This pantomime wouldn’t have happened without them.”

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for those 16 years and under. They can be purchased online at cochranevisiontheatre.com, as well as at Bentleys Books or at the door.

The performance is set to run at 7 p.m. Nov. 28 to 30, and at 2 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
