Snow in forecast for Cochrane region

Environment Canada predicts the season's first snowfall early next week.

The warmer fall weather Cochrane and area have experienced the last several weeks may be coming to an abrupt end as Environment Canada predicts the season's first snowfall early next week. 

According to Environment Canada, the forecast for Monday, October 21, is predicted to be a high of 1 C with a 60 per cent chance of flurries throughout the day and into the night when the temperature drops to -7 C. 

The cold and snowy weather is expected to initially begin Sunday night, with a low of -3 C and a 60 per cent chance of snow and rain. 

But until then, Cochrane residents can savour the remaining warm fall weather. Tomorrow's high is predicted to be a high of 8 C but paired with a wind chill of -7 C in the morning. Friday is predicted to be a high of 10 C and sunny, with a nighttime low of -7 C. Saturday and Sunday will see highs of 16 C and 11 C respectively, before a cooldown on Sunday night when the snow and rain is expected to start.
