An award winning work of art by Foothills Art Club member Orianna "Ori" Millwater was on display at the club's 2024 Fall Art Show and Sale at the St. Andrews United Church on Oct. 19.
Millwater's piece, Echoes of the West, received third in the Grade 12 Western Art Scholarship Rural/Southern Alberta. Millwater added that the piece was also selected for Doug Swinton's choice, and was also featured at the Calgary Stampede for a week.
The painting was done in acrylic and it took Millwater a month to complete.
Millwater graduated as part of Bow Valley High School's class of 2024. She is currently attending the University of Calgary with plans to major in art.
