RCMP Alberta is requesting help from the public in identifying human remains that were found near Cochrane Oct. 13, 2012, according to a media release from the Alberta RCMP “K” Division.

The release stated that at this point in the investigation, the Calgary Medical Examiner has found that the remains belong to a Caucasian male between the ages of 20 and 60, and that they belong to an individual who at some point had a broken nose.

It is believed the remains had been decomposing for less than a year when they were found.

A three-dimensional facial approximation of the individual has been constructed and images have been released to the public by RCMP Alberta.

The remains were located near a rural property along Township Road 252 last October. Cochrane RCMP responded to the call.

Anyone with information that could aid in the ongoing investigation or provide the identity of the deceased is encouraged to contact the RCMP tip line at 403-699-2709 or through email at [email protected].
