Jake Vaadeland & The Sturgeon River Boys will bring their high-energy performance style to the Bragg Creek Community Centre on Sunday, Oct. 29th.
Vaadeland is a self-taught musician and songwriter from Saskatchewan. A multi-instrumentalist proficient on guitar and banjo with impressive vocals, he boasts a unique blend of bluegrass and 50s rockabilly influences.
The music revolves around storytelling and relatable messages.
In 2023 Vaadeland made waves by performing at JunoFest and CCMA Week, as well as showcasing his talent at AmericanaFest in Nashville. He had the honour of opening for renowned artists like Dean Brody and Charley Crockett.
His musical journey also earned him a Western Canadian Music Award nomination for Roots Artist of the Year and a Saskatchewan Country Music Award for Alternative Country Album of the Year.
In 2022, Vaadeland won two Saskatchewan Music Awards, including Album of the Year for Everybody But Me, and Folk/Roots Artist of the Year. His album, Retro Man secured the second spot in fan voting for the Best Saskatchewan Album of 2021.
