Today, (Feb. 10), an extreme cold warning has been issued for Cochrane, with cold weather expected to continue for much of the week.
Today may appear mainly sunny, but it is minus 22 with a risk of frostbite. With wind blowing SW up to 15 km/h, it will feel like minus 29.
Later this evening, the temperature will plunge to minus 22 and minus 31 overnight.
At night, the sky will be clear though cloudiness will increase past midnight paired with periods of light snow.
Tuesday, Feb. 11 will see approximately two centimetres of light snow ending early in the afternoon with a high minus of 14. Later, during the day, there will be a mix of sun and cloud.
Wind up to 15 km/h will make it feel like minus 19 on Tuesday morning and minus 24 in the afternoon.
Tuesday night will appear cloudy with a low minus of 26.
A mix of sun and cloud will grace Wednesday morning on Feb. 12, with a high minus ten. Though Wednesday night will be cloudy with 60 per cent chance of flurries with a low minus 19.
Come Thursday, Feb. 13, a mix of sun and cloud will start the day with a high minus of 16. At night, it will be cloudy with a low minus of 24.
There will be a 40 per cent chance of flurries on the night of Valentine's Day on Friday, Feb. 14, but a mix of sun and cloud with a high minus of 19 during the day should help make the day.
Following weekend may be cold, but a little bit of sun should help make it brighter.
