Bragg Creek Performing Arts is offering yet another evening of entertainment not often found outside of the bright lights of the big city, with their East-Coast Romp on Sunday, March 16 at the Snowbirds Chalet.

Organizers are understandably excited about what they’re calling “a memorable evening of live music and fine dining as the Bragg Creek Performing Arts Society proudly presents the Celtic contemporary sister-duo of Cassie & Maggie, in a special dinner concert.”

The Society’s description of the duo goes on: “Taking their musical cue from some of eastern Canada’s oldest traditions, this amazing pair bring their own modern flair to our nation’s Celtic roots, using innovation and talent to electrify their performance. Switching between English and Gaelic, blending instrumental arrangements and percussive step dance, they have enchanted and thrilled audiences worldwide.”

A clip from a radio station in Ireland takes the praise a bit further: “Cassie and Maggie... What an unbelievably gifted duo, the train is just gathering steam and leaving the station on these new stars. It is going to be a glorious journey, and it is already well-begun." (Live Ireland Radio - Dublin, IR.)

Hailing from Nova Scotia with longstanding family roots, the duo has turned heads worldwide. They have been recognized as Galaxie Radio Rising Star award winners, have 17 Canadian Folk Music, East Coast Music and Music Nova Scotia awards, and Album of the Year by NPR’s Celtic Connection.

The doors open at 6 pm on the 16th, with dinner at 7 and concert at 8. Bragg Creek Snowbirds Chalet, is at 19 Balsam Ave. in Bragg Creek.

Tickets are available at bcpa.ca or via Ticketpro (1-888-655-9090). General admission is $75 or a table of eight for $600.

A three-course seafood styled dinner will be catered by Bragg’s Korner Kitchen. Clint Docken of Bragg Creek Performing Arts said, “Nothing accompanies Celtic music better than a good seafood dinner.”

Bragg Creek Performing Arts Society is committed to delivering live concerts that captivate and inspire. Future performances and shows are on their website, bcpa.ca.

Their next season begins with the acclaimed roots songwriters John Wort Hannam and T. Buckley, known as “Woodshed” on Sept. 19, 2025.

Bragg Creek Performing Arts is run entirely by volunteers and is a registered not-for-profit charity. For more information, contact them at [email protected].
