The annual Coldest Night of the Year walk will change locations this year, as a result of last year's water break at Riverfront Park.

The annual Coldest Night Of The Year walk will move to the pathway near SLS Centre this year from Riverfront Park.

Participants will walk the river path from the SLS Centre through River Ave (Iron Bridge), continue along the river path to Riverview Playground and back for the 5 km. route The 2 km turn-around is at the Iron Bridge OR straight out at Riverview Playground.

The Coldest Night of the Year is a family-friendly walk on Feb. 24, in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

The Helping Hands Society of Cochrane and Area is again asking area residents to join in the worthwhile effort by fundraising, donating, walking or volunteering to help out those less fortunate.

Helping Hands is still looking for more sponsors to join the list of local businesses, organizations and individuals already committed to the cause.

For more information on how to take part go to helpinghandscochrane.ca.

New sponsors can contact Laura at [email protected]

Walk options are 5 km or 2 km with a coffee rest stop along the way. Return to the start/finish for the outdoor wrap party, with food from Guy's Cafe.
