Cochrane’s annual Community Clean-Up is set to return on May 3, bringing residents together to help beautify local parks and green spaces.
“This event is not just about cleaning up,” said Trish Kluane, manager of Parks and Open Spaces. “It’s about fostering community spirit, environmental awareness, and making Cochrane a better place for everyone.”
Designated pickup sites will be set up across town with supplies including garbage bags and marked drop-off areas for collected litter. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and any additional clean-up tools they may need.
“To ensure sufficient supplies, we encourage community organizations and groups to register with their group size and preferred clean-up site,” said Kluane.
The Parks and Open Spaces team will handle all waste disposal once the clean-up wraps up. The group that collects the most bags will win a free block party trailer booking and a $200 grocery gift card.
The family-friendly event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and all residents are welcome to participate.
