Police charged a Calgary man in exposure incident at a school.

A Calgary man has been charged for exposing himself to two young girls at a school in the southwest community of Palliser.

On April 2, 2025, Alejandro Jose Cervera-Marin, 26, exposed himself while looking in the direction of the girls at Nellie McClung School at 2315 Palliser Drive S.W.

As a result, he is charged with two counts of indecent exposure to persons under the age of 16, two counts of criminal harassment and one count of intimidation. He is also charged under the Education Act with one count each of loitering or trespassing on school property and conduct detrimental to safe operation of a school.

The incident took place at approximately 12:40 p.m. The students immediately reported the incident to school staff who called police.

After speaking with the students and school staff, police obtained a detailed physical description of the suspect and began investigating. Officers were able to obtain CCTV from a nearby residence, which led to the identification of the suspect.

The next day, on April 3, 2025, police located and arrested the Cervera-Marin, who was found near the school.

“Indecent acts are traumatizing to anyone, especially young children,” the Calgary Police Service Sergeant, Trent Barker-Petersen, said. “We recognize that it can be difficult to report such acts, and we are thankful that the students came forward. This is a criminal offence and there is zero tolerance for such highly inappropriate behaviour in our community.”

Cervera-Marin will next appear in court on May 20, 2025.
