Pop/folk singer-songwriter Justine Giles is coming to the Snowbirds Chalet Jan.25.

Bragg Creek Performing Arts welcoming Justine Giles, Calgary’s 2024 YYC Music Awards Solo Artist of the Year, for an exclusive dinner concert on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Bragg Creek Snowbirds Chalet.

Giles will be accompanied by Sarah Houston, and the duo promises an unforgettable evening of music and connection.

Since relocating from Toronto to Calgary, Giles has been active in the local music scene, culminating in her recent win at the music awards.

In late 2019, Justine Giles was looking for a fresh start. She packed up and moved from Toronto to Calgary, carrying big plans along with her guitar. Of course, within a few months those plans had to be put on hold, but it didn’t stop Giles from building a foundation of new musical ideas, along with new connections to bring them to life.

Things may have taken longer than originally planned, but Giles has another chance to show the world what she can do, and she’s taking full advantage of it. Her new EP, suitably titled Another Chance, encapsulates her past five years in five heartfelt and beautifully constructed songs, re-introducing Justine as a powerful Canadian voice within the global singer-songwriter scene.

Another Chance is available on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music and Bandcamp.

Inspired by artists like Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, and Tenille Townes, Giles’s heartfelt and beautifully crafted songs solidify her place as a powerful Canadian voice on the global singer-songwriter stage. Her accompanist, Sarah Houston, is a Calgary-based musician known for creating lush, vibrant compositions.

Originally from Sudbury, Ontario, Giles self-released her debut album Shine in 2014, and within a few years was named the Northern Ontario regional winner of CBC’s annual Searchlight competition. Moving to Toronto, she participated in Canada’s Music Incubator (CMI) program, while performing often in the city, and being featured on CTV’s The Marilyn Denis Show.

“You will not want to miss this classic folk-pop performer in the intimate Snowbirds setting,” said Clint Docken of Bragg Creek Performing Arts.

Doors open at 6 pm with dinner at 7 and concert at 8. The Bragg Creek Snowbirds Chalet is at 19 Balsam Ave. in Bragg Creek.

Tickets are $75 per person or $600 for a table of eight and are available at bcpa.ca or through Ticketpro at 1-888-655-9090.

Bragg Creek Performing Arts is dedicated to delivering live concerts that captivate and inspire. Their next event will feature the Celtic music of Cassie and Maggie in an exclusive dinner concert on March 16.

Run entirely by volunteers, the Bragg Creek Performing Arts Society is a registered not-for-profit charity celebrating the magic of music and the arts.
