“The owner has fully complied with the requirements, including muzzling to ensure public and wildlife safety,” according to a Town of Banff statement.

“Importantly, FWES believes that the young cougars were not with their mother at the time the cougar was harvested,” read the statement from the Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services

“It’s definitely startling … the dog was obviously harassing that deer big time."

“They are the 6th and 7th cougars to be lost from our ecosystem since May 2024. I can’t even describe in words just how devastating this is.”

“The only really two reasons why a coyote would be in your neighbourhood or in and around town is for a place to sleep somewhere or where they’re finding food."
