Drake Holloway, a 20-year-old Stoney Nakoda man, has been found guilty of assaulting an Airdrie police officer.

On December 16, 2024, a vehicle Holloway was travelling in as a passenger was pulled over for failing to stay in its lane.

The driver of the vehicle was found to have a "no contact" order with Holloway and there had been an outstanding warrant out for his arrest.

At this time, Holloway exited the stopped vehicle during the check, advising he had to go to the bathroom. He attempted to flee, leading to a quick pursuit. Holloway resisted arrest by actively fighting officers and grabbing the Constable's testicles.

A second officer came to aid in the arrest, ultimately taking Holloway into custody.

On April 4, 2025, police attended a 9-1-1 call at Calgary's Grey Eagle Casino where Holloway was found with the same woman he had previously been ordered to not have any contact with. The two currently share custody of a daughter.

Holloway entered a guilty plea, and was sentenced in Airdrie Court on April 17 to serve 27 days in custody - 18 of which, he had already completed. He was given 20 days for the assault, two days for the first "no contact" order breach, and five for the second "no contact" order breach.

Holloway will be on probation for the next twelve months, on the conditions that he must keep the peace, go through anger management counselling, and have no weapons in his possession.
