The MD of Bighorn is happy to announce that the second round of engagement for the Municipal Development Plan (MDP) Update will be starting in May 2024.
The MDP is a long-termplanning policy tool and is one of themost important land use planning documents for any municipality in Alberta. This latest round of engagement builds off the great participation by over 100 residents and affected parties during the Visioning Sessions in 2022. Through your involvement, we were able to develop a new draft Vision Statement and Guiding Principles!
MD of Bighorn No.8 – Municipal Development Plan Update 2022-2024 In late 2023, the MD engaged ISL Engineering and Land Services (ISL) to support us in reviewing and updating our MDP. Through themonth of May, the MD, along with ISL, will be hosting 6 drop-in open houses throughout the MD along with a survey that can be completed online or by sending a copy to the MD by email, mail, or by dropping it off at the MD office. This second round of engagement
focuses on finalizing the draft vision and guiding principles you helped us develop, and gathering your ideas on the draft MDP Framework, which will used to support the development of policies for the MDP, across several topic areas such as housing, commercial/industrial development, recreation and tourism, natural environment, transportation and other infrastructure.
