Dear Editor:
It has been concerning to read the articles on MAID (assisted suicide) and the positive light in which it is presented.
Every human being is born with "eternity in their heart" as evidenced by the struggle to live even in adverse circumstances; when we sufficiently silence that within ourselves we have indeed lost hope. This is the sad result of a society that has destroyed reverence for life and fear of God.
Ultimately the decisions we make in this life will affect our life in the next; tragically this is ignored by those who offer a "peaceful" escape from suffering. Having had a father and brother who spent years on dialysis without seeking an alternative "choice,” but letting life run its course, assured that One greater than them knew and could be entrusted with an event so sacred as death, encouraged all who knew them.
To a society obsessed with being in "control,” as cliche as it may sound, Jesus Christ is still the hope of the world and has made us for greater things. You can trust Him.
