Letter to the Editor: Canadians have had it with Justin Trudeau

Pierre has plans to increase revenues, decrease government spending and use those savings to strengthen our military and live up to our NATO commitments.

As you suggested in your editorial (of Jan. 2), about 76 per cent of Canadians have had it with Justin Trudeau, and polls suggest that the Liberals might lose official party status, but do not despair.

Taxpayers who are tired of corruption, waste and high taxes are planning to vote for Pierre Poilievre. While partisan articles attempt to scare readers by portraying Pierre as a villain or a fool, independent media and people who know him personally describe him as approachable and honest. He is never portrayed as weak or two-faced, so Trump has no reason to dislike him.

After nine years of profligate spending, big changes and economic pain will be unavoidable. If Canada tightens immigration rules, reverses Bill C-75 and works with the US to stop the flow of drugs, tariffs might be avoided.

Pierre has plans to increase revenues, decrease government spending and use those savings to strengthen our military and live up to our NATO commitments. This will also please Trump.

As for the carbon tax, it is merely a tax that punishes Canadians for heating their homes and driving their cars. It has nothing to do with the freezing or melting of ice. The sun takes care of that.
