Mitzi Watts
November 4, 1934 – December 9, 2024
With deep respect, we announce the passing of Mitzi Watts on December 9, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta, surrounded by family. Born on November 4, 1934, Mitzi lived a life marked by kindness, love, and dedication to her family.
Mitzi's kind spirit and caring nature were well-known. She outlived her husband Bob, with whom she was married for 42 years. As a devoted mother, she showed remarkable resilience, raising her four young children alone after losing her first husband. Her selflessness was clear when she made many sacrifices to prioritize her children's well-being.
Her hobbies included gardening, playing horseshoes, bowling, curling, and crafting. Mitzi volunteered year over year the Regatta at the Summer Village of Ghost Lake and played Triple A Fastball with The Rockettes, showcasing her athleticism across Alberta and British Columbia.
Mitzi is survived by her five children: Bonnie Polski, Brian Martin (Shirley), Barb Gibson (Len), Brenda Martin (Kelly Wiltsey), and Leona Wowniar (Trevor). She leaves behind ten grandchildren: Lynn (Paul), Jason (Lisa), Jodie, Erin, Mandy (Scott), Melanie (Kyle), Corey (Madison), Jennifer, Kira, and Tyler, along with eleven great-grandchildren. Mitzi is also survived by four siblings: Frankie, Otto, Rose, and Steve.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mathilda and Joseph Kurta; her husband Bob; her siblings: Johnny, Bob, Joe, Rudy, Michael, Edward; and her grandson Eugene.
