One hundred forty-eight seniors, aged 51 to 88, participated in the 13^th Annual Super Seniors Squares Bonspiel

held in Cochrane’s SLS Centre between Nov. 22 and 26.

65Plus Mens: Winner: Gary Hawkes, Cochrane/Bearspaw.  Second: Dave Rutherford, Calgary

70Plus Mens: Winner: Ed Grotkowski, Calgary.                      Second: Bill Strain, Cochrane

75Plus Mens: Lorne Danielson (Calgary/Airdrie)                    Second: Keith Boothe, Cochrane

55Plus Women/Mixed: Marnie Shipley, Cochrane                 Second: Dennis Graham, Canmore

60Plus Mixed: Norma Columbus, Canmore                             Second: Cinthia Zeer, Cochrane

2. Sturling, Seniors Qualifier.

Cochrane sturlers, Myrna Fink and James Kimball, won the 70Plus team category in a playdown held on

November 25 in Strathmore. They now proceed to the Provincial Playdowns to be held in Feb. 2024

3. Seniors Curling, AB 55Plus Big Country Seniors Qualifier.

Between Dec. 1-2-3, some 17 curling teams from Okotoks, Diamond Valley, Canmore, Cremona, & Cochrane

Meet at Cochrane’s SLS Curling Centre to vie for nine entries into the AB 55Plus Provincial Games.

The most sought-after Categories:

*Womens’ 55Plus, where five teams (Okotoks, Springbank, Diamond Valley, & Cochrane) face off,

*Mixed 65Plus, where Canmore, Diamond Valley and Cochrane play off, and

*Mixed 55Plus, where Diamond Valley and Cremona play each other. And

*Men 55Plus, where Diamond Valley plays Cochrane.
