Cochranites are no more than two clicks away from the information they desire with the Town of Cochrane’s new and improved website.

Designed to be more user-friendly and easier to navigate, the new site boasts several new bells and whistles, including ‘my dashboard,’ where users can personalize which modules, features, keywords, calendars, news items and emergency alerts they would like to see most often; ‘let’s talk,’ a discussion forum that encourages dialogue on issues in the community; and ‘notify me,’ a feature the town’s senior manager of corporate services, Paige Milner, is excited about.

“Users of the website can now subscribe by using the ‘notify me’ feature and be alerted if there’s a change to the website,” said Milner.

Users can subscribe to any email list through the ‘notify me’ feature, and receive an email or text message alert updating them on the information requested. Touted as being easier to navigate, 98 per cent of the information is said to be only one mouse click away, with all information no more than two.

Milner also highlighted the ‘let’s talk’ feature, saying it provides an opportunity for residents to interact with and be engaged in what’s going on in town.

“It’s a forum that allows residents to share their opinions and ideas on important issues,” she said.

The homepage of the new site provides easy access to several town contacts and town information, including council agendas and minutes, an events calendar, bylaws, maps, policies career opportunities and information on council members. For more information visit cochrane.ca.
