Two prolific offenders have been arrested and charged by Cochrane RCMP.

The Cochrane RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, with assistance from the Southern Alberta General Investigation Section, have charged and arrested two prolific offenders.

During December 2024, the two groups were monitoring the release of two offenders who committed an armed robbery and stole a motor vehicle. RCMP located one offender in a stolen vehicle on Stoney Nakoda, who then fled from police. The offender was tracked to a residence in Calgary, where he was later arrested with assistance from Calgary Police Service without incident.

Later that month, Canmore RCMP responded to a break and enter where the second offender fled from police in a stolen vehicle. The offender was later located by authorities on foot. The offender deployed bear spray at an officer, but with assistance from RCMP Police Dog Services, the offender was apprehended and the officer was not injured.

From their investigation the RCMP recovered a stolen shotgun and four stolen vehicles. The two offenders were charged with a total of 27 Criminal Code offences.

26-year-old Malik Holloway of Stoney Nakoda was charged with:

  • Robbery with a Firearm
  • Flight from Police
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
  • Three counts of Uttering Threats
  • Five Counts of Failing to Comply with a Probation Order

28-year-old Koda Crane-Dixon of Stoney Nakoda was charged with:

  • Robbery with a Firearm
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Flight from Police
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Assault on a Police Officer
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Three counts of Uttering Threats
  • Two counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Two counts of Possession of a Firearm Contrary to an Order

Inspector Dave Brunner of the Cochrane RCMP said that they not only patrol the streets, but also patterns.

“We are here to identify, monitor, arrest and break the cycle of prolific offenders,” Brunner said.

Both offenders remain in custody and await court appearances.
