Town of Cochrane announces fire ban now in effect

Due to hot weather in the conditions and dry uncured grasses in Cochrane, the Town has issued a fire ban, effective July 24 at 10 a.m.

Due to hot and dry conditions in the community, the Town of Cochrane has issued a fire ban, effective July 24 at 10 a.m.

Due to hot weather conditions in the near future and dry uncured grasses in the community, the Town of Cochrane has issued a fire ban, effective at 10 a.m. on July 24.

The fire ban represents an extreme fire danger level. The following activities are prohibited:

  • open fire permits
  • town fire pits
  • backyard fire pits
  • outdoor fireplace
  • chiminea
  • Fornos oven
  • indoor fireplace (wood burning)

The following are allowed during a fire ban:

  • propane/natural gas barbecue
  • propane/natural gas fire pit
