Cochrane Home-Care Services (CHCS) will be holding a support-group session for local and area caregivers on April 25.
The session will be held at the Cochrane Urgent Care Centre from 10-11:30 a.m. and will tackle such topics as stress and burnout, putting yourself first, dealing with guilt and grief, navigating the complex health-care system and, perhaps most important, maintaining one’s own well-being as a caregiver.
Support-group sessions are held on a regular basis — the final Thursday of each month.
April 25’s event will feature a presentation from COMPASS, a family-care centre located in Edmonton.
With over 300 caregivers in the Cochrane district, these sessions endeavour to provide an opportunity for those in the health-care industry to meet and share their experiences.
All sessions are confidential, and are free to attend, requiring no registration.
