The Christmas spirit is starting early with the Santa Claus Parade announcing its official date to be Saturday, Dec. 12.
The Santa Claus committee is now accepting float entries with forms available at cochranesantaclaus.ca.
After the parade, Santa will be sticking around to hang out and visit the communities of Cochrane from Dec. 14 – 18.
There will also be a contest running from now until Oct. 23 inviting local children and youth (Grade K – 12) to submit a drawing of what ‘Christmas looks like in Cochrane,’ accepting submissions at [email protected].
The winner will have their design used for this year’s official parade poster.
Last year’s inaugural parade brought an estimated 15,000 spectators.
The parade will be starting at 5 p.m. from the old Dodge lot, travelling east along Railway St. to Centre Ave., then south along Centre Ave. to the Quarry site.
