According to the Town of Cochrane, the paving for the Historic Ranche and Glenbow pathways is now complete.
"You may have noticed on your travels around Cochrane that pathway paving has now been completed as scheduled through both Glenbow and the Cochrane Ranche," reports the Town on its Facebook page. "The Cochrane Ranche pathway is set to officially open soon, and once it is open our Parks team will keep it cleared throughout the winter to ensure it’s accessible year-round.
The Town also reports that bridge installation on these pathways has been delayed.
"The installation of new pedestrian bridges on the Glenbow section of the project has hit a delay due to unexpected ground conditions, which required adjustments to the bridge foundations," it states. "With the additional work needed on the foundations, bridge construction is now expected to continue through mid-December.
The Town says, once complete, the bridges will have a "rustic, natural look," that is inspired by Parks Canada. They will be designed to support half-ton trucks for ongoing maintenance.
"Built with durable steel, they’re expected to last over 50 years," the Town says
Once the bridges are installed the pathways will be officially opened for the public to enjoy,
