Local author, Evon Small, decided there's no better time than the present to spread messages of hope, positive thinking and faith on a global level.
His premier book, Mission Possible: Hope Restored is a collection of poetry touching on a wide array of topics - from loss to love and everything in between - was released in October and is now available for purchase at Bentleys Books.
“I tend to look at the big picture in life. You see so much hopelessness in this world...if your message can reach even one person, it's worth it, ” said the first-time author.
Small hails from Kingston, Jamaica but moved to Canada in 2006 with his family. At first living in Brampton, Ont., Small relocated to Cochrane in 2008, taking a position at the Lafarge Cement Plant in Exshaw as a process coordinator.
A devout Christian and congregation member of RockPointe Church near Bearspaw, Small remembers not long ago, while in the process of migrating to Canada, that he and his family fell victim to a faulty investment - costing them nearly the entirety of their life savings.
“You reach those lonely points where somehow, your deliverance must be orchestrated by some higher power...I survived and then you see the journey and how it is being crafted by someone bigger than me. ”
