Jasper National Park will remain closed to campers and other outdoor recreationists until at least Sept. 3 after the federal government extended a usage block initially set to expire Aug. 6.
In a July 30 update Parks Canada announced all campgrounds and accommodations under its management would be cancelling reservations with a checkout date on or before Sept. 3.
Full refunds will be provided for impacted parties, although the service will likely be delayed.
The announcement follows on the heels of a July 23 post which had cancelled bookings until Aug. 6.
