Cochrane is heading toward a deep freeze this weekend and into next week.
There will be flurries with wind blowing north at 20 km/h gusting to 40 in the morning on Saturday, Feb. 1.
The temperature is set to fall to minus 17 in the afternoon. With wind chill it will be minus 16 and minus 27 in the afternoon.
Saturday night will be cloudy with 60 per cent chance of flurries and temperature plunging to minus 26.
Sunday, Feb. 2 is shaping up to be a true Alberta winter day—chilly with a mix of sun and clouds.
Though don't be fooled by the sunshine; temperature is set to drop at a brisk minus 23.
Followed with a cloudy Sunday night with a low minus 29.
