Temperatures are expected to plunge overnight Friday with the potential for 50 km/ h wind gusts.
According to Environment Canada, there will be periods of snow in Cochrane this evening which will end after midnight then clearing. Winds will be coming north at 30 km/h gusting to 50 km/h this evening.
A low -26 C is expected with a wind chill of -33 C overnight. There is a risk of frostbite.
Temperatures will remain clear and cold over the next few days. With a high of -17 C on Saturday with a wind chill of -38 C in the morning, and -16 C on Sunday. Overnight temperatures Saturday will be -22 C and -28 on Sunday.
All in all Cochranites better bundle up for a very frosty weekend.
