Mayor Jeff Genung presented Wesley First Nation councillor Krista Hunter with a blanket and the Men of Vision award at the inaugural town council meeting Oct. 25.
The award is meant to honour dignitaries who visit Cochrane and community members who make significant contributions to the town and features the Historic Cochrane Ranche brand of 1881 branded onto cattle hide.
Chiniki First Nation councillor Verna Powderface and all members of Cochrane town council also received the award.
Councillor Rod Hunter was invited to receive a gift on the behalf of the Bearspaw First Nation but was not in attendance.
