The Cochrane Safeway made a $16,953.46 donation to the Cochrane Food Bank Society at a cheque presentation event inside the store on Mar. 21.
Kathy Tucker, vice president of the Cochrane Food Bank Society, said that the donation will help support their efforts in feeding the less fortunate in Cochrane.
"This is something that really helps our food bank, and it comes at a critical time where we do need that injection of a donation like this," she said. "We are so excited to be able to get the support from the Safeway here in town, and use it to buy produce, dry goods, and everything else we need in our food bank."
