Cochrane RCMP reports missing Rocky View youth is now located

Cochrane RCMP reports that a missing 12-year-old girl in Rocky View County has now been located.

Cochrane and Calgary Search and Rescue teams assisting in the search for a 12-year-old Rocky View youth that went missing on July 4.

Following reports of a missing 12-year-old girl in Rocky View County, Cochrane RCMP has confirmed that the missing youth has now been located.

The report was received on July 4 at 9:32 p.m. outlining that she was missing from her home and had last been seen around 6:30 p.m.

Cochrane RCMP attended the area and commenced a search with a police dog, RCMP drone, and the assistance of Cochrane and Calgary Search and Rescue teams.

At 8 a.m. on the morning of July 5, the youth walked out of a bush located near a member of the public who lived in the area, who provided food and contacted police. She was later reunited with her family.

Cochrane RCMP would like to thank all Search and Rescue volunteers who assisted in the search, as well as all members of the public for their quick-thinking and kindness in helping the missing youth.
