Cochrane issues Fire Restriction effective June 9

Due to anticipated hot, windy weather and dry grass conditions, the Town of Cochrane has issued a fire restriction, effective 4:00 p.m. on June 9, 2025.

Due to anticipated hot, windy weather and dry grass conditions, the Town of Cochrane has issued a fire restriction, effective 4:00 p.m. on June 9, 2025.

A fire restriction signals high fire danger, meaning outdoor fires can ignite and spread quickly. Cochrane Fire Services is urging all residents to take necessary precautions.

The following are NOT permitted during the fire restriction:

  • Open fire permits
  • Town fire pits (Mitford Park, Riverfront Park, Cochrane Ranche)

The following remain ALLOWED:

  • Propane/natural gas barbecues and fire pits
  • Outdoor fireplaces, chimineas, and fornos ovens
  • Indoor wood-burning fireplaces
  • Pellet stoves and smokers
  • Backyard fire pits
  • Charcoal briquette barbecues
