Cochrane Food Bank Receives $1,910 donation from Save on Foods

The Cochrane Food bank has recently recieved a $1, 910 donation from the Cochrane Save on foods annual Share It Forward program

The Save On Foods in Cochrane has recently finished its annual Share It Forward program for the month of June.

Every year in June, Save On Foods in Cochrane puts on the Share It Forward program, in which they donate a percentage of their earnings on Western Family products to the Cochrane Food Bank.

“It means the world. It means everything to us, the community helping us to put food on more of the Community's table.” Said Director of the Cochrane Food Bank Kathy Ratico.

Ratico expressed how grateful the Cochrane Food Bank is for the donation. The Share it Forward program is a massive help to the Cochrane food bank who relies on donations to purchase food and feed local people in need.

This year, the Cochrane Food Bank received a total of $1,910 from the Share It Forward program at Save on Foods.

“We purchase food, fresh food every single week,” Said Ratico, “So receiving money like this $1,900 goes a long way towards our grocery bill.”

Every week the Cochrane food bank buys products like eggs, lettuce, carrots, apples, oranges, onions, cheese, butter, Yogurt, and potatoes in order to provide fresh food to families in need.

Donations such as this from local sponsors are what enable the Cochrane Food Bank to provide the best possible care to people in the community who need it.

Ratico said, “We're just so grateful. And we wanted to make sure if there was any way to bring awareness to what they [Save On Foods] were doing, we wanted to do that.”
