The Cochrane area is now under a flood watch instead of a flood warning.
Despite a significant amount of rain continuing to fall, the risk of flooding in the area has been reduced, according to the Town.
In a Facebook post, the Town announced they are "continuing to actively monitor the rainfall impacts within Cochrane and crews are responding as required."
Some localized flooding is occurring on Glenbow Drive, but it is not currently an area of concern as the water on the roadway is flowing as intended, according to the announcement.
Residents also shouldn't be alarmed to see crews from Cochrane Fire Services on the Bow River today as the organization is participating in a pre-planned water rescue training exercise.
Residents are asked to continue exerting caution by staying away from riverbanks and low-lying areas where the river can flood pathways.
The rainfall warning issued by Environment Canada for Cochrane, Airdrie, Olds and Sundre remains in effect.
