Riders from around the globe will brave eight seconds on a bull at the Cochrane Classic on July 27.

The best bull riders from around the globe will be trying their hands at braving the whole eight seconds atop these bucking monsters at the Cochrane Classic Bull Ride on July 27.

Gates open at 5 p.m. at the Cochrane Ag Society, with bull riding kicking off at 7 p.m. In addition, an 18-plus barn dance will take place at 9 p.m., featuring music by the Hillside Outlaws from B.C.

Tickets are available online via events.frontdoor.plus/event/638. They can also be purchased by visiting Tony’s Work and Western Wear, or Drycleaning by Dave in Cochrane. Prices range from $35 for adults, $20 for seniors and students, and free for children ages 5 and under.

Promoter of the event, Jason Borton, said the event will host 30 riders from across the globe. Without a doubt, he assures that the event will be jam packed night of good times.

“We’re one of the bigger events for Bull Riders Canada,” Borton said. “We have guys coming up from Australia, Brazil, and the United States. It’s pretty big bull riding. These kids are coming from long ways away to come ride bulls.”

With the event less than a week away, Borton said he looks forward to seeing the crowds return to the Ag Society for another Cochrane Classic.

“I just think if you’re looking for a good time and a great evening, com on out to this thing because it’s such a great event for your family,” he said. “There’s not a bad seat in the house, and by the sound of it, the weathers going to be good.”
