Thanks to a unique partnership, seeking assistance has become easier and more accessible.
On Tuesday afternoon Cochrane and Area Victim Services (CAVS) accepted a $16,000 donation from Calgary-based Dandly, Inc.
The cheque was presented to CAVS president Brenda Sine and the organization's executive director Lauren Delahunt in front of Cochrane's RCMP detachment.
The significant donation was used to develop CAVS new operations manual and advocate flip book. Both materials will be used to streamline information sharing within CAVS and will guide volunteers on proper procedure at an organizational level and with service delivery.
"Volunteers are the backbone of our organization," Delahunt said.
"As a Victims Services Unit it is vitally important for us to provide our volunteers with proper guidelines so they can complete their jobs safely and effectively."
Dandly, Inc. President and CEO David Gamble said his company regularly helps organizations mitigate risk, streamline operations and improve their bottom line. He is touched by the impact his company has had on CAVS as result of the collaboration.
"Not every day do we get the opportunity to support an organization that so greatly impacts so many lives and could not have received our support without us giving back," Gamble said at the cheque presentation.
Dandly, Inc. is a management consulting and documentation services firm. CAVS is a not-for-profit organization that provides 24-hour crisis response, support and referral services to victims of crisis, trauma and tragedy. The organization works alongside the RCMP in the local detachment.
