Alberta Fish and Wildlife issue bear advisory for Cochrane

A bear advisory has been issued for the town of Cochrane.

COCHRANE— Alberta Fish and Wildlife are advising residents on the south side of the Bow River to be cautious of a bear that was spotted in the area.

The bear was spotted by several residents who have posted images and reports of sightings on social media.

Residents are asked to put their waste and organics carts out the morning of collection and to store those items in a shed or garage before then, remove all food sources from their property, like bird feeders, fruit from trees and pet waste, keep their dogs on a leash and carry bear spray on them while recreating outside.
