A Cochrane-grown harvest at the Community Tree Fruit Round-up

Picked and fallen fruit donation were collected at the Town of Cochrane's Community Tree Fruit Round Up on Sept. 28.

Donations of freshly fallen and picked fruit were collected at the Town of Cochrane Lagoon on 141 Bow Bend Way for the Community Tree Fruit Round-up on Sept. 28.

The initiative aims to minimize food waste, while also feeding the community.

Fallen fruit will be dedicated to feed orphaned and injured animals at the Cochrane Ecological Institute. Picked fruits that haven't touched the ground will be donated for human consumption to local food security groups and food banks including the Cochrane Food Bank, the Îyâhrhe Nakoda Food Bank, as well as the Helping Hands food sheds.
