It’s no secret that it was the oil industry executives who wanted the carbon tax implemented, because it works. Dennis McConaghy, former senior executive with TransCanada Pipeline, was furious with Stephen Harper for not cooperating with them. Dennis was convinced that had Harper implemented the carbon tax President Obama would have approved the Keystone XL pipeline and his corporation would have saved millions of dollars.
Now while the true Alberta conservatives show how concerned they are about what this clone of Klein is doing to our doctors, nurses and teachers these phoney conservatives, believing every lie Jason Kenney feeds them, show absolutely no respect for any of them and are more than willing to allow Kenney to deliberately destroy their careers.
Tex Leugner is a perfect example of what I speak. While he rants and raves about the evils of foreign corporations attacking our oil industry, just like his Liberal turned Reformer hero Jason Kenney has taught him, he forgets our oil industry is made up of mainly foreign corporations and if it’s such a great disaster wouldn’t you think the oil executives would have something to say about it?
It’s Jason Kenney treating his supporters like morons, and they are letting him do it.
It isn’t hard to understand why the American oilmen that I was involved with years ago called Albertans the dumbest people on the planet for letting the Klein government give away our oil royalties the way they were. Nothing has changed now Kenney is doing it and he still has these ignorant Alberta seniors believing every lie he feeds them. Looking after their own well being and that of their rich friends is what it’s all about. While he feeds them the lie that we don’t have a revenue problem only a spending problem he slashes taxes to benefit his rich friends, just like Klein did, and tells them he has to destroy the careers of doctors, nurses and teachers, some of the most important people in our lives. They don’t care.
My senior friends and I are from the Lougheed and Getty eras when those conservatives treated all Albertans with dignity and respect and collected proper royalties, taxes and health care premiums and ran this province properly. We could trust them to do what was right for the people. You can’t trust these reformers.
